Commercial studio time in Boston runs $100 or more an hour. That price doesn't reflect the quality of the work — it reflects who can afford to walk in. We built 960 to change that math. Not as a charitable arrangement, but as a model we've held for 15 years.

At commercial rates, 8 hours of monthly studio time runs $800–1,600 a year. For someone earning $5,000–15,000 annually from creative work, that's 25–150% of their income just for access. At $10–40/hr, space costs a fraction of that. That difference is whether a career develops or stops entirely.
